The History of Trebarwith Hotel, Newquay
Trebarwith Hotel was formed from the purchase of a number of plots overlooking Great Western Beach in the heart of Newquay between 1899 and 1920.
In 1939 Trebarwith was requisitioned by the RAF. Units stationed there were a dental school and surgery along with No 1 Squadron's aircrew training wing. Many ex-servicemen have returned to Trebarwith over the years and have passed on their wartime experiences. In 1964 Trebarwith was purchased by the present owners and have continued to develop the hotel to the present day. The introduction of an indoor swimming pool was completed in 1976.
After 43 years of ownership the Tarrant family are still developing the business and building on its continued success and popularity. The fourth generation of the family are now involved keeping us up to date and with fresh ideas for the future!
